Case Notes
This 22-year-old male sought treatment for unilateral gynecomastia, with excess glandular breast tissue affecting the right side of his chest. After a personalized consultation with Dr. Claudia Kim, the patient elected to undergo gynecomastia correction with surgical excision of glandular tissue to create a more balanced and masculine chest contour.
Gynecomastia surgery, also known as male breast reduction, can be used to address enlarged male breast tissue that may affect confidence and chest definition. In this case, the enlargement was isolated to the right side, making careful evaluation of the patient's chest anatomy and asymmetry an important part of the surgical planning process.
During the procedure, a small incision was placed along the inferior border of the right areola to provide access to the underlying glandular tissue. The excess tissue was carefully excised using a circumferential technique while preserving an appropriate layer of tissue beneath the skin. The surgical area was then thoroughly evaluated, and the patient was positioned upright to assess chest symmetry and contour before closure.
This approach allowed the treatment to be specifically tailored to the patient's unilateral gynecomastia rather than applying the same correction to both sides. Following surgery, the patient was placed in a compression garment to support the treated area during recovery.
This gynecomastia before-and-after demonstrates how targeted male breast reduction can address localized glandular tissue and chest asymmetry. Dr. Claudia Kim develops individualized gynecomastia surgery plans based on each patient's anatomy, concerns, and desired chest contour.
